Customising Wellies
Wellies (or Wellington Boots) come in all different colours, patterns designs and heights. Since Festivals are becoming more and more popular so are wellies and they are now part of the festival fashion! I am off to V Festival with 4 friends in just under a month, so I have started to gather a few bits together!
I can be a little fussy when it comes to wellies as I struggle to find ones that fit correctly, as my calves are not a skinny as I would like them to be. Previously I have had tall ones but they weren't as comfy as I hoped they would be. So this year I have opted for some mid calve length wellies, they were from Tesco and I got them a couple of months ago. I think they were either £12 or £14! (Picture right)
I loved the floral print (obviously very big this season) with the little hints of pink! I didn't want over the top pinkness as we are doing fancy dress one day which involves wearing alot of pink, I shall save that as a surprise for when I get back!
Even though I love these wellies I just wanted to customise them slightly so they stand out!!! So I put my thinking cap on and did a bit of research and I love all the blingged up converse and havaianas, check some of these out one twitter! Amazing!

Anyways so I thought why can't I do it to my wellies! I decided to not use swarovski crystals as they are more expensive and lets face it I'm going to be in a muddy field, dancing around in crowds of people and may come off! So I opted for come cheap acrylic stones. £3.30 from ebay and they are soooooooooooo sparkly!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330751112247?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I got 3 different sized stones in this wheel! 3mm, 2mm and 1mm, the 1mm are very small and I thought they would be very hard to use.
I started gather my tools together, super glue, tweezers and a orange stick. Oh and a towel so if there were any loose sparkles they wouldn't be all over my house! Which I don't think my other half would be so happy about.
I started at the bottom and alternated between a 2mm and a 3mm stone, I did this as I knew I wouldn't get the line perfectly straight and this would conceal it slightly. I put a small amount of glue them placed the stone with the tweezers. As shown below.
I then placed it more accurately with the orange stick and pushed it down. With the slanted edge this was easy to do and I whizzed through the first one!
I did a line up the back of each but this didn't seem enough SPARKLE... for me anyways so I then carried on round the top to each welly and wala!!!! Finished bling'd wellies!!!! :)
I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions of anything else I could add to them!!
